What happens in your body when you consume sugar?

Let me explain it with an example. Everyone knows fruit is healthy. The question is, is fruit juice healthy? Fruit juice is fruit isn’t it? No, it’s not. Fruit juice is not fruit. The reason is because the most important nutrient in that fruit has been removed, and that’s the fiber.

You may wonder how fiber can be a nutrient, you don’t even absorb it. The reason is that the fiber is not for you. It’s for your bacteria and for your gut. It’s to make your gut healthy. And what the fiber does is, there are two kinds of fiber in a fruit (soluble and insoluble) and you need both. When you have both, it forms a gel inside of your small intestine, and it prevents absorption of sugar from the gut into the bloodstream. That means your liver doesn’t get shocked with the tsunami of carbohydrate, so it's protected, and your liver doesn’t turn all that sugar into fat, your liver doesn’t get sick and you don’t get insulin resistant. And remember that high insulin causes problems such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease.

Keep it simple, eat  real food. Real food works. It protects the liver and feeds the gut. You will be healthy.
